Hélène Hulak
Hélène Hulak was born in 1990 in Paris (France). She lives and works between Paris and Lyon (France).
She creates installations that merge painting, sculpture, textiles, and video. Her work overturns capitalist representations of femininity through a devouring and incisive aesthetic, marked by saturated colours, grotesque silhouettes, and exaggerated bodies. By appropriating craft techniques such as quilting and knitting, she alters their scale, rhythm, and function, transforming them into critical, expressive languages.
Hélène Hulak has been exhibited at the 68th Salon de Montrouge (France), Musée d’Art Contemporain in Lyon, Magasins Généraux in Pantin (France), SIM Gallery in Reykjavik (Iceland), Kommet Art Space in Lyon, and “100% L’Expo” at La Villette in Paris. She has also taken part in several international art manifestations, including Lokart Festival in Pécs (Hungary) and Prague Art Week (Czech Republic). Her works are part of several public collections including: Fonds d’art Contemporain - Paris, Clermont-Auvergne Métropole (France), and The Living Art Museum in Reykjavik (Iceland). She is co-founder of the association of art professionals Cagnard and of the performance collective Les Enfants de Diane.
