Chloé Poizat
Chloé Poizat was born in 1970 in Saint-Cloud (France). She lives and works in Pré Saint-Gervais (France).
Her practice is primarily based on assemblage, creating a dialogue between fragments –drawings, paintings, sculptures, videos, and sounds– to form fictional worlds with a secret connection to the living, where the grotesque, the dreamlike, and the strange are omnipresent. She invites us to explore new metamorphic territories, lands that are sometimes dark, sometimes cheerful, inhabited by a bestiary, anthropomorphic forms, which possess a secret connection with the living.
After studying at the École des Beaux-Arts in Orléans (France), Chloé Poizat spent a year studying with Françoise Héritier at the Collège de France in Paris. Her recent solo shows include “Mues et Dépouilles” at Riglab - SeizeMille in Migennes (France), “Sous l’écorce des pierres” at Centre des arts André Malraux in Douarnenez (France), and “Ce que voient les yeux d’ombre” at Maison des Arts Agnès-Varda in Grand Quevilly (France). Her works are featured in several public collections, including Centre National des Arts Plastiques (France), Musée de l’Abbaye Sainte-Croix in Salon-de-Provence (France), and Fonds d'art contemporain - Paris Collections (France).
