Isabelle Bapté
Isabelle Bapté was born in 1993 in Épinal (France). They live and work in Berlin (Germany).
Isabelle Bapté is a ceramic artist whose work explores body, identity, and social norms. Growing up on a farmstead in the Vosges mountains, they spent hours by the small stream nearby, digging clay from the shallows with their fingers to mould into figures. Rediscovering clay in 2016, they began creating Boobie cups as a way to transform personal feelings of shame into empowerment. Through playful yet thoughtful forms, their ceramics challenge beauty standards, break taboos, and celebrate the diversity of the female body.
They previously trained at the Medien & Kommunikation Association in Freiburg (Germany), and later worked as a course assistant in the ceramics workshop at Fabrik Freiburg. Since 2019, Isabelle Bapté has worked as an independent ceramic artist, developing a growing body of work that now includes hundreds of unique, hand-sculpted pieces exploring embodiment and self-acceptance.
